The Summer School will run from 10.00 am Monday 15 September until 4.00 pm on Thursday 18 September 2008

The Summer School will be held at Sutton Bonington Campus, University of Nottingham

Participants will be staying at the Bonington Halls of Residence, Sutton Bonington Campus, University of Nottingham.

How to get to Sutton Bonington

Sutton Bonington is very accessible both from within the UK (road and rail links) and from elsewhere by plane - East Midlands Airport (EMA) is only 8 km away, and Birmingham / Manchester airports are within easy reach.

Travel by train

The nearest station to Sutton Bonington is Loughborough. A taxi will cost around £10 and the journey usually takes 20 minutes or so. Nottingham station is around 30 mins away and a taxi journey will cost around £20.

From Nottingham and Loughborough By Bus:

From M1 Motorway / A50

Junction 24 of the M1 motorway is 2 miles from the Campus. People travelling by road from the M1 (from North or South) or from the A50 (from West) should exit the motorway roundabout on the A6, signposted Kegworth and Loughborough. From the Junction 24 roundabout:

1. Continue on the A6 to the outskirts of Kegworth
2. Take the first left ("Side Ley", signposted Kingston, Sutton Bonington)
3. Continue on this road, which becomes Station Road.
4. Immediately after bearing right and crossing the canal, turn right (signposted University of Nottingham Sutton Bonington Campus). This is still Station Road.
5. At the crossroads, turn right onto College Road
6. Sutton Bonington Campus is on the left.

A6 from Leicester

1. Leicester via A6 to Loughborough (12 miles)
2. Loughborough via A6 to Hathern (3 miles)
3. Leaving Hathern via A6 turn right along the A6006. Pass through Zouch and take the first turning on the left for Sutton Bonington.
4. Pass through Sutton Bonington, follow the main road up the hill and bear left at top.
5. Sutton Bonington Campus is on the right.

A453 From Nottingham University Park Campus

1. Take the A52 Ring Road South across Clifton Bridge and get into the correct lane for A453 Birmingham and M1.
2. Continue on the A453 through Clifton.
3. At roundabout take first exit to Gotham.
4. continue along B679 turning right in Gotham for Kingston-on-Soar (marked "Kingston"). Straight over the mini-roundabout.
5. In Kingston-on-Soar fork left for Sutton Bonington and continue to crossroads.
6. Continue straight ahead at crossroads.
7. Sutton Bonington Campus is on the left.

From East Midlands Airport

From East Midlands Airport you can use the Barton's service Rainbow 5. Buses leave from outside the Airport Arrivals hall.
